Come from total dark A cold, never ending Born in an eon long ago Vexing all description Malice cursed with age Which knows only chaos It is only arrogance To think that man can banish A seething darkness so ancient To see inside the mind A predator intellect Is to truly know madness Human life so puny A blink and then you’re gone Their power is unending Pray they never choose To possess your flesh You would never see the light again And so you light a candle But the light is easily snuffed Darkness surrounds you And though you may ignore And bury your head in the sand They have not forgot you
