Fourteen the days I walked alone Through wilderness I saw no one The trees never betrayed it Moving around so silently My breath seemed to freeze Time slowed down to a creep I ran just as fast my legs would run Never though I saw it pursue The legends of fell things Things outside of time Fourteen years it’s been since that night So long ago since I have known peace Every night it returns to me Walking round the bed Claws scratching the floor Come to finish me off They say blessed are the meek But I say blessed are the dead For they lie still at night No devils in their heads
