Deep under the ice, the old ones sleep Under the ground of Antarctica, lying dormant It’s been our fortune that they’ve been locked away so long And we’ve forgotten what the world was like with them around The ancient titans, powerful beyond reckoning The juggernauts of long ago wars, whose evidence remains Powerful beings, as old as the oceans Trapped under glaciers, imprisoned for thousands of years And man in his idiocy, melts their prisons And as the ice caps melt, it brings them closer And when their tombs are broken, they shall be released A plague upon the world bringing disease and fire An army of elder gods, with malice in their minds They will bring their attention to us, and mankind will suffer A new kind of war that we cannot hope to win Our weapons useless, the opposition just too strong A new age of darkness, brought forth from the frozen south Humans and animals die by the millions, burned to death And fools pray to absent gods in the face of oblivion And no one answers, the heavens remain silent
