Reflected Tyrant

Bewildered at the cruelty the opposition shows Drawn into a war that was long before I was born Fighting against unthinkable odds, baptized in fire Relentless obsession against the order of control Time spells the advancement of both tactic and technique I spilt the bloated skulls of generals at their legions feet The power now beholden unto me is greater than I’ve ever known And long before my twilight years I sit upon the throne And kings and armies try to take what’s mine They come with force, they come with spies to steal I ordered the torture of hundreds for opposing me And in my heart of hearts I know I have become the devil The crown upon my head The lines and scars on my face The cold dead eyes staring back Looking in the mirror at a reflected tyrant I vowed to defeat our masters I swore I was different than them And now I rule with an iron fist I have become the reflected tyrant
