No Rest for the Weary

In the night comes creeping images Distortions warped and crawling Deep unknown fears manifesting Clawing at my tattered sanity And they’re waiting every night, no possibility of escape Scratching at my senses, how long will I last And she comes with beauty And a knife wrought from cold Here to torture me Over and over again There is no rest for me night after night My dreams connected, like spiders web A never ending catacomb of blackness And they just keep gnawing and gnawing Now I lay my head to die every night The morning comes cold and without life Riddled with pain and madness, it will not end My torment is mine now and forever Battle scarred landscapes Of fire and destruction Hollow houses Which never were The people who do not exist in dislocated time But all of them fail to compare She is the author and finisher of my torment I will never be free from her again
