Open eyes beholding Traveling through the dark The cold chill of terror Shoots up your neck The darkness cloaks the armed intruder Traveler stalked as prey The mind feels the terror Like a paralyzing bite Unfamiliar territory Cry out in fear Mind reeling in horror At what may draw near Break into a flat run Fleeing what you don’t know The woods are alive around you Conspiring unheard Lungs burning with fire Gasping for air Hear something behind you For which you were not prepared Open eyes beholding Traveling through the dark The cold chill of terror Shoots up your neck
