Exile by Choice

The holy words which had brought comfort Now turned stale from the priests mouth A glimpse beyond the illusion Once seen, never forgotten He would leave that very night No destination planned, his course unsure To travel far away to never see again The empty hollow smiling face in the mirror Unfamiliar land seems so much more sinister In the middle of the night Shadows moving against hostile surroundings There are things awake that sleep by day And they fell upon him suddenly Creatures of nightmare ripping through skin They feasted on his blood And the life left his body Behold his horror as the next night he rose Reborn as a monster, thirsting for blood He’d never see the sunrise again The thirst is more than he’s ever known He went completely insane that very night No hesitation, turned twisted and sick To leave behind the shackles of one life To be ensnared by a fate so much worse He fell upon his victims suddenly With the speed of the walking damned He drank their gushing blood like a fiend He comes unglued in heinous ecstasy
