I heard the promise of messiah Heard the empty words spoken by the wise men I saw the empty cradle where the lord was not Felt the quaking future, nothing certain Bow down to the empty throne Give your eternal service to the absent But there is no one to hear your prayers God is not here With great wailing and gnashing of teeth Comes the cries of the people of the earth But they fall on deaf ears, there is no one in heaven
