Death Rising

"And they moved within the darkness knowing no light, stating that there was no such thing. And when the light was brought upon them, they fled in fear saying, 'This cannot be the light! For we know what light is!'. The darkness was their home, and they knew only their home. And when the angel of light came before them open armed with a message of peace, they shunned him. And when he tried to give them water, they claimed poison without drinking. And when he offered food to fill their bellies forever more, they chastised saying, 'No one meal can ever fill.' And when he asked them why they thought that, they began throwing stones. And when the angel died, the men devoured his body for food, and the universe wept. For the men were truly lost."
