The harsh light of open surroundings Wind abrasive blowing out of the north A soul cries out for answers in vain Answered with cold silence Told that he should seek God Told that he should keep his faith Told that only God has answers Told that he is unworthy And they shun him as an apostate in their eyes Set up for failure before he’d even begun Cast out for seeking truth, and only given lies He turns his face away in abject shame
