Life drains away from us all Deaths cold embrace awaits Some claim to see a bright light But what lies in store is darkness Fallacy perpetuated to lead the sheep from fear But the lies won’t save them from reality Solitary, slipping into blackness Into nothing, you simply are no more No matter how important you’ve been led to think you are You will melt into the void, and you will not exist Humans make up myths for things that don’t understand They think belief equals some kind of truth Seeking meaning from any shepherd offering It cannot save you, it will not save you In a wide scheme of things your life means nothing at all Just another microbe on a spinning ball of rock To think yourself divine is laughable at best A tiny insect with such a god complex
