“Gods of Metal” festival (June 6th, 1998) at the Filaforum in Assago, where we played alongside our idols, Black Sabbath. What I remember most about that day is the infernal heat, sharing the dressing room with Blind Guardian — who tried to “befriend” our female performers — and, of course, “the chicken incident”… We had forgotten the fake chicken we normally used onstage during the song “Baron Samedi,” and our diligent bass player managed to replace it with a real one bought — somehow — from a local butcher shop (obviously already dead). As a vegan and animal rights activist, I found the whole thing rather disturbing, to say the least, but in the end I used it anyway… although I immediately threw it into the crowd toward the hungriest fans in the front rows. — Steve Sylvester 🇮🇹 Tra i concerti svolti durante questo magico mese, ricordo la partecipazione al Gods of Metal (6 giugno 1998) al Filaforum di Assago, dove suonammo con i nostri idoli Black Sabbath. Di questa data ricordo che faceva un caldo infernale, che dividevamo il camerino con i Blind Guardian che cercarono di “fare amicizia” con le nostre performers, e “l’incidente del pollo”… Avevamo dimenticato il pollo finto che usiamo scenicamente sulla canzone “Baron Samedi” e il nostro solerte bassista si prodigò per rimpiazzarlo con uno vero acquistato non so come in una macelleria locale (ovviamente già morto).
