Song dedicated to the ancient pagan celebration of spring, typical of central-northern Europe that took place on the night between April 30th and May 1st. It was characterized by parties, songs, traditional dances and bonfires, but soon took on different meanings, depending on the different traditions and cultures of the European countries in which it spread. Its name derives from Valpurga of Heidenheim, an 8th century Bavarian nun canonized by the Catholic Church and venerated on May 1st. The Christian Church will condemn it as a night of witchcraft linked to the cult of the Devil and popular tradition will mask everything with blessing and purification rites with fire. The song was recited specifically for DEATH SS by the great English actor Oliver Reed (1938/1999). Canzone dedicata all'antica celebrazione pagana della primavera, tipica dell'Europa centro-settentrionale che avveniva la notte tra il 30 aprile ed il 1º maggio. Era caratterizzata da feste, canti, balli tradizionali e falò, ma assunse presto diversi significati, a seconda delle differenti tradizioni e culture dei Paesi europei nei quali si diffuse. Il suo nome deriva da Valpurga di Heidenheim, una monaca bavarese dell'VIII secolo canonizzata dalla Chiesa Cattolica e venerata il 1º maggio. la Chiesa cristiana la condannerà come una notte di stregoneria legata al culto del Diavolo e la tradizione popolare maschererà il tutto con riti di benedizione e purificazione col fuoco. La canozone è stata recitata appositamente per i DEATH SS dal grande attore inglese Oliver Reed (1938/1999).
