Ronnie James Dio and Cozy Powell were briefly in Black Sabbath together during the early writing and demo sessions for the 1992 album Dehumanizer. Powell did not appear on the final album due to an injury, but demos featuring his drumming and Dio's vocals do exist and have circulated among fans and on bootlegs. The Dio/Powell/Black Sabbath Demos: Cozy Powell was initially part of the lineup when Black Sabbath began writing and rehearsing material for what would become the Dehumanizer album, alongside Tony Iommi (guitar), Geezer Butler (bass), and Ronnie James Dio (vocals). However, before official recording began, Powell broke his pelvis when a horse he was riding collapsed on him. He was replaced by Vinny Appice, who played on the final album.
