Alas, no Promethean flame could arise The Cleansing fire of knowledge to burn the skies From kingdom below, beyond the left of forked path Tel Megiddo still remains unfortunately intact Alas, to see, with mine eyes, the fire Lucifer's ascension to heaven, diabolically conspire Like Tantalus, could not taste fruition's fruit And now lies beneath an earth far from its spring, youth But there are times I remain aware Armageddon has yet to trumpet its fanfare I will see Lucifer, rising morning star Against heaven aflame, even from afar.
