The Tyranny of the Mountains

Somewhere over the ends of the rainbows Stands the tyranny of the mountains Rising high to conquer the sky Snowfall atop the mountains so tall Reflecting the bitter winter sunrise Over the fjords whither angels fell Mother Earth and Wind I sought What delight to find myself, my soul, where Golden arrows fly like the albatross through the bluest sky From the star of Midas: the Sun Set free and forward For the soil is moist in the desert of my mind Sow these seeds of dreams And watch them flourish into an orchard Of the most tantalizing of the fruits A place, a palace...where gods were born and forgotten Yearning As the world is turning As the sun and soul is burning This world shall not be forgotten nor slain Northern lights sojourn in northern nights By The tyranny of the mountains Where the earth and firmament converge A starkness meets the obeisance!
