The Ilussion of Freedom

The scriptures are filled with examples of this. Time after time we have all pursued something we wanted and decided we would have it even if it meant disobeying God to get it. The results were and always are disastrous. We are not free when we choose the path of disobedience because sin and evil live to master us. Choosing to follow that path opens the door to their mastery over us. So we have that choice open before us each and every day, whether we choose to be free or slaves.
