The Ballad of the Black Dragon

At the dawn of the planet1, there was struggle. And the worst of these struggles, were dragons. Forged in the heart of the planet, From dark rituals, Shards of the god of fire, Bör, Were trapped. Encased in stone bodies and given life, These husks were the dragons. Seven there were, the greatest amongst creatures, But the greatest of the sept was Thranulduth. First of his kind and eldest of dragons, He named his brothers, Giving them all the title of thrall to capture their reign over beast and beings alike. The eldest lived on, breaking the shackles of the Skept, And after the death of the dragon Morodenithrall, The reign of dragons began to err. The remaining of the seven went into hiding, Some deep underground, Some deep in the seas, But Thranulduth left himself available to some. People began to know the dragon, his poison breath seeping into the land And twinging the minds of those in their sleep. The black dragon, now blind and shrunken by age and fear, Began to collect a following, and he would give them the gift of visions And psychic minds. And so goes the story of the black dragon Thranulduth, rumored to rise once again ———————————————————————————————————————————— The blind, black dragon Who’s breathe is poison, Whose gaze pierces into the mind. Slithering through the depths of the planet, The darkest places made alive. We worship thee, Oh black dragon, Giver of psychic minds! Wondrously dark and spectrally mystic, Blind, black dragon of night. Giver of visions, Father of seers, Creature of psychosis. Enrapture us still, Emblazon our flesh With your symbol of green putrescence. Psychic of Bör, Namer of dragons, Drinker of poisons, Invader of minds, Father of seers, Spirit of fire!
