The candles flicker with breathless flame The stone is cold beneath my frame The idols stare with hollow grace Their silence echoes through the space The blood runs slow across the floor The air is thick with ancient lore I kneel in fear beneath their gaze And speak the words that end all days The walls breathe deep with hidden life The chants return with cursed strife The altar hums with sacred pain Its pulse resounds inside my brain The veil is thin the void is near I offer all I hold most dear The gods awake with sunless eyes And judge the truth beneath my lies
