Of Beasts and Blossoms

Woolly giants all around me as bison roam free In the sky a redtail on the wing A tall, a small And a meadow where the bluebird still sing It's hard to believe on these plains which time left behind Through the eyes I see the works of the Artist Divine. Where colorful rocks form castles in the skyline And the wind a sea of wild grasses sway I dream of prairies where the buffalo still roam And the deer still play A meadow lark sings An eagle soars above the trees Like bouncing lanterns in the prairie twilight Whitetails run with the breeze Wings paint the horizon red As cranes by the legions have arrived Cottonwoods whisper and cattails sing As the land of flat water comes alive A grand symphony on the land of flat water As cranes fill the sky Fields of gray and wetlands of white
