The sun burns low on a dying land Winds carve whispers into the sand Footsteps fade where none will see Dust to dust, eternally My shadow thins, my breath grows weak The sky unyielding, vast and bleak No gods remain, no voice, no hand Only the call of barren sand Bones lie white where time stands still Stripped by the heat, broken by will The dunes embrace, the past is gone Buried beneath, yet never withdrawn A final rest, no grave, no stone The wind my dirge, the sand my throne The world moves on, the sun still glows Yet none will know where I repose
