Lucifer's Window

Wearing a cloak of tasseled weary Staggering through thick bough Skin scrapes a shallow scar From the thorns holding me back The sounds of brittle debris crunch As if the ground & my feet are teeth Sleeping Earth's crumbs are the feast Creating a path as each jaw gnaws curiously Flickering lights shine I see them now Snaps have seized For grass is now underneath my feet There's a house with no doors Only bares a window with charred shutters Inside the grace of a shadow producing Elegant sways to the rhythm of the flames That decorates the interior of the aperture As I connect reality with the current scenario I feel the image pulling at my aura's hand As an invitation to celebrate this find Closer, inch by inch, I levitate To this singular opening of this abode I peer inside with anxious stare Observing the Identity of the dancing shadow This familiar creature creeps its pace dramatically Then I realize this inferno hermit is one of the same For it shares my face but not my name Lucifer's Window
