In the Darkness of Night Dwells My Broken Mind

Not complacent or taking things for granted A sudden change brings forth turmoil and depression I shouldn’t reminisce the past as nostalgia is my worst enemy Everything was better back then Any thought of the past lingers as a sigh In the cold of the dark night dwells my damaged mind Broken from those with two faces For there are many, such a cruel world continues This shattered mask can no longer hide My true identity, I feel not of this plane of existence All the ghosts of the past haunt in residual thought Dreams dissipate, unfulfilled and gone forever My perception of reality conditioned through all the hurt and pain I don’t want to hate, I’m left with my mind frozen, broken and confused
