From darkened spaces the breath is stolen A lantern flickers then fades completely Stone corridors stretch with no return The cold is patient and ever listening Dust chokes the names once carved in pride A memory buried beneath old roots Time has no language in this descent Only echoes know the pain of silence The walls lean close like ancient mourners Each shadow grows with solemn hunger There is no door only the waiting Footsteps are swallowed by velvet soil Eyes adjust to a deeper blindness Where light once lived only weight remains All movement slows beneath this burden The soul unravels one breath at a time There are no voices only the pressure A tomb without walls devours the sky Ash becomes wind within the mouth Hope curls inward and forgets its name Even screams fall short of the edge Where ground becomes thought and thought becomes stone The darkness teaches in waves of dread Nothing becomes all and all is nothing Chants rise like smoke behind the altar The sermon is carved into silence Reverend Bizarre walks without haste The bell tolls for no one Sabazius draws each note from a void The drone stretches like decaying time No pulse remains inside the chant Only gravity answers The tide swallows the broken hull The Hesperus drifts beneath rot and silt No star guides its corpse Only barnacles remember its name
