Forlorn A desolate soul grieving, facing continual transformation My world is shaking, let me not become the abomination Will my spirit break, will my heart divide I will fight as long as I draw breath, no failure too big, no victory certain Forlorn, lost amidst the tumult Torn, my flesh in constant revolt Against the new man Refusal to become a new creation A heart in continual upheaval When shall it in God’s commands revel? Freed from a just sentence With this gift will I now grow, Or rot and die slow? It’s never enough, A feast lies ahead Yet it continues to cut me open and feed Years of waiting and hoping Crying out to the heavens Faith is a belief strong enough to act Did I truly believe if my actions never reflect his promises? Sick and tired of feeling hopeless, Despairing of death, despairing of life A forlorn soul, lost in the sands of time This life is wretched and full of pain I feel so alone I am forlorn I am torn I am worn When will you end this war? Why am I self scorned? Why do I believe poisonous words? A dead shell without purpose, here then gone Like a cloud in the sky My world has lost grip of any meaning Everything defined by nothing Where’s my soul, lost or dead Woe to one with a broken spirit For none can bear it Death of soul, in a life with no calling Forlorn! Lost soul come back to me, There is one who gives this life meaning!
