Old memories beneath swirling glass No longer reachable, painful to see They are trapped where they died In a lake of ghosts Reborn on misty mornings Pointing the way to hell Reminding us of our fragile lives Because nothing is pure And someday it dies So we can no longer obscure The failings and the unfair That grow like forlorn mold Spreading with new stories All that drown All that die Washed away in silence Until the agonized rebirth Twisted, strangled Inevitable
